CHP Leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu Calls for Cleaning of Religious Centers
The leader of the Republican People’s Party (CHP), Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, has made a statement calling for the cleaning of all religious centers in Turkey. He urged his mayor friends to take immediate action and clean mosques, cemevis, churches, and synagogues across the country.
During a live television broadcast, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu stated, “People will go and pray to God there. This is my belief.” He also added that being an Alewite is not a crime and that Alewism has been told behind closed doors as if it’s a bad thing. He further said that he is a sincere Muslim and has never eaten haram or violated human rights.
Kılıçdaroğlu also addressed the issue of the PKK and explained why he did not say the organization’s name. He said that the Ministry of National Defense and General Staff refer to the PKK as a “separatist terrorist organization” and that the CHP also follows this tradition of the state.
Moreover, the CHP leader supported the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) and called for a proper investigation to determine if HDP has any ties to terrorism. He further added that terrorism is a crime against humanity and the country’s intelligence organization needs to act against it.
