Lebanon’s Health Ministry Condemns Israeli Attacks on Healthcare System

The Lebanese Ministry of Health has issued a statement condemning the Israeli army’s recent attacks on hospitals in Beirut and the Jebel Lebanon region. According to the statement, two hospitals were targeted, including the Rafik Hariri University Hospital, where the Israeli army hit one of the entrances.

Despite the threats made by the Israeli army to target the Es-Sahil Hospital in the south of Beirut, the statement reassured the public that the hospitals continue to operate normally. It was also highlighted that the headquarters of the International Committee of the Red Cross is located within the Rafik Hariri University Hospital.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health denounced the war crimes committed by Israel in its attacks on the healthcare system, which resulted in the loss of 4 medical personnel and injuries to 5 others within the past 24 hours. The statement called on the international community to speak out against these attacks and questioned how many more innocent lives must be lost before action is taken.

Furthermore, the statement emphasized the need for support for hospitals and healthcare workers in Lebanon who are serving under challenging conditions during the ongoing conflict. Yesterday alone, 4 healthcare workers lost their lives and 5 others were injured due to Israeli attacks in various parts of Lebanon.

The Ministry also reported that, following the air attack near the Rafik Hariri Hospital, 4 individuals, including a child, lost their lives and 24 others were injured. The call for international humanitarian support against these attacks on the healthcare system in Lebanon remains strong as the country faces continued violence and destruction.
