Charles Leclerc secures pole position at the Las Vegas Grand Prix
Monaco’s Charles Leclerc, who races for the Ferrari team, has clinched pole position for the upcoming Las Vegas Grand Prix, which marks the 22nd leg of the Formula 1 World Championship season.
Leclerc dominated the qualifying rounds, securing the top spot with an impressive time of 1:32.726. The race will take place on the 6.2-kilometer Las Vegas Strip Track in the US state of Nevada and will consist of 50 laps.
His teammate, Carlos Sainz, also put in a strong performance, securing second place with a time of 1:32.770. However, due to a penalty for changing the power unit in his car, Sainz will start the race from 12th place, allowing Red Bull’s Max Verstappen to move up to second place and Mercedes’ George Russell to start in third place.
The race is scheduled to take place tomorrow at 09.00 GMT. In previous races, Verstappen has secured 17 wins, while his teammate Sergio Perez has 2 wins, and Sainz has 1 win. The Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, which was meant to be the 6th leg of the season, was unfortunately canceled due to adverse weather conditions.
