Legalizing Foreign Vehicles in Kyrgyzstan
A phased legalization of foreign vehicles has begun in Kyrgyzstan
In a move to simplify the legalization process for vehicles with foreign license plates, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Zhaparov, has signed a decree to ensure transparency and protect the rights of bona fide owners.
The legalization procedure will be carried out in three stages. The first stage will focus on legalizing vehicles with proper title documents. The second stage will involve the legalization of vehicles that are in good technical condition but lack necessary documents. The third stage will allow owners of undocumented vehicles to either sell them for parts, export them from the country, or dispose of them.
The government has been tasked with developing and approving the rules and conditions for the initial registration of these vehicles within the next two months. Additionally, they will establish registration fees for the process.
This initiative is aimed at streamlining the process of legalizing foreign vehicles in Kyrgyzstan and ensuring that owners can easily comply with the regulations. By implementing these measures, the government hopes to create a more efficient and transparent system for vehicle registration in the country.
