Leyla and Arzu Aliyeva Visit Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic
On Friday, Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder of the IDEA Public Union, alongside Arzu Aliyeva, Head of the Baku Media Center, embarked on a significant visit to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic with their family members. This trip aimed to explore the region’s rich historical and cultural heritage, as well as its architectural marvels and natural beauty.
The visit commenced with a tribute at the monument of Azerbaijan’s National Leader, Heydar Aliyev. Following this, the group toured the Heydar Aliyev Museum, where they engaged with rare exhibits that illuminate the life, political legacy, and public endeavors of this esteemed leader.
Among the architectural highlights of Nakhchivan, they visited the Momina Khatun Tomb and the Nakhchivan Khan’s Palace. They also explored an open-air museum in “Ajami” park, which features artifacts from the khanate era, showcasing the region’s illustrious past.
A heartwarming part of the visit was dedicated to the Nakhchivan Children’s Rehabilitation Center. Leyla and Arzu Aliyeva reviewed various departments within the center, seeking insights into the medical rehabilitation processes and services offered to children with disabilities. Leyla Aliyeva further contributed by donating essential rehabilitation equipment, including robotic gloves for hand therapy, as well as devices for miostimulation and infrared light therapy.
The day concluded with a cultural event at the Heydar Aliyev Palace in Nakhchivan, where the feature film "Taghiyev: Oil," produced by the Baku Media Center, premiered. The film chronicles the life and philanthropic contributions of Haji Zeynalabdin Taghiyev, a prominent historical figure in Azerbaijan.
This visit not only highlights the commitment of Leyla and Arzu Aliyeva to social causes but also emphasizes the importance of preserving and sharing Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage.
