Turkmenistan Declares 2024 as “The Fount of the Mind of Magtymguly Fragi” Year
At an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, the resolution of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan declaring 2024 as the year of “The Fount of the Mind of Magtymguly Fragi” was read out. Held at the Rukhyet Palace on Friday, December 29, the meeting was chaired by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and included the participation of members of the State Security Council, heads of regional administrations, and the city of Ashgabat.
During the meeting, Chairman of the Mejlis Dunyagozel Gulmanova briefed the head of state on the process of selecting the motto for the upcoming year. The decision took into account the recommendations of members of the Halk Maslakhaty, representatives of public organizations, labor collectives, and citizens. The main goal was to link the motto of 2024 with the name of Magtymguly in honor of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the renowned thinker and classical poet of the East, and the poem “Pähim-paýhas ummany Magtymguly Fragi” by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov gave his approval for the motto “The Fount of the Mind of Magtymguly Fragi” and the emblem of the upcoming year, as presented by the Mejlis. The Turkmen State Radio and Television reported this decision in a news release.
This resolution reflects the importance of commemorating the legacy of Magtymguly Fragi and honoring his contributions to Turkmen culture and literature. As Turkmenistan prepares to celebrate the 300th anniversary of his birth, the declaration of 2024 as “The Fount of the Mind of Magtymguly Fragi” year will serve as a tribute to his enduring impact on the nation.
