The Maiden’s Tower, a well-known landmark and symbol of Istanbul, has officially opened again for visitors after undergoing restoration for 20 months. The restoration works, which were completed by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, aimed to preserve and protect the historical structure for future generations. As a way to celebrate the reopening, a light and laser show was held at 21:00 that illuminated the tower for all to see.
The Maiden’s Tower has a rich history, with various myths and legends surrounding it. The tower, which is situated on an islet off the coast of Istanbul’s Üsküdar district, has served as a lighthouse, watchtower, and quarantine station over the years.
The light and laser show attracted a significant amount of attention from the local citizens who flocked to Üsküdar beach to watch the spectacle. The show lasted around 30 minutes and provided an unforgettable experience for those in attendance. With the Maiden’s Tower now fully restored, visitors are able to access the tower and explore its many stories.
