Mailuu-Suu Electric Bulb Plant Expanding Production to Glass Containers

Mailuu-Suu Electric Bulb Plant in Kyrgyzstan is undergoing a transformation in its production line to introduce new products, as reported by the State Property Management Agency. The plant, which has been operating since 1966, is planning to shift towards the manufacturing of glass containers and expand its production of LED lamps. Additionally, a small hydroelectric power plant is being constructed on the Mailuu-Suu river, along with the opening of mini garment workshops and the production of mineral glass wool for insulation purposes.

In order to facilitate the production of glass bottles and jars, the plant is in the process of installing new equipment and constructing additional facilities. The necessary machine line for glass container production will be sourced from Heye International in Germany. This expansion is expected to create at least 50 new job opportunities. The first batch of new products is projected to be ready by the end of this year.

With an annual financial turnover of around $11 million, the Mailuu-Suu Electric Bulb Plant currently employs over 1,300 individuals and manufactures 40 different types of incandescent electric lamps. Its products are exported to countries such as Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, and Georgia. The plant’s efforts to diversify its production are aimed at enhancing its competitiveness and meeting the evolving demands of the market.
