Uzbek Ambassador Discusses Trade and Business with Saudi Arabian Representative
The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Saudi Arabia, Ulugbek Maksudov, recently met with the Director General of the International Cooperation Department of the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mansour Al-Ajmi to discuss trade relations and opportunities for mutual business ventures between the two countries.
During the meeting, the Ambassador and the Director General discussed the possibility of increasing the volume of trade between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia. They also explored business opportunities for Saudi Arabian representatives in Uzbekistan, including the organization of a business mission for business representatives from Saudi Arabia to Uzbekistan.
Mansour Al-Ajmi expressed the readiness of the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry to mobilize all efforts to further improve the relations between the two countries. He said that the Chamber would help to increase the volume of mutual trade by organizing visits to foreign countries by bringing together businessmen from all directions.
The Uzbek Ambassador proposed organizing a business mission to Uzbekistan for a delegation of representatives of the business circles of Saudi Arabia. The aim of this mission would be to increase the volume of mutual trade and to attract Saudi Arabian investments to projects in Uzbekistan.
The Saudi Arabian representative announced that the Chamber would fully support this initiative. A delegation of 100 businessmen, representatives of the investment and trade ministries, and financial funds would visit Uzbekistan this year.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to intensify further cooperation in priority areas such as agriculture, tourism, textiles, mining, healthcare, animal husbandry, horticulture, and trade. The talks were a positive step towards strengthening the relationship between the two countries, and further announcements may be expected in the coming months.
