
Man Dies After Jumping from Police Vehicle in Tashkent Region: Investigation Launched

A tragic incident occurred in the Okkurgan district of the Tashkent region, resulting in the death of a citizen who sustained injuries after jumping out of a police vehicle. According to a report from the Tashkent Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the victim, identified as T.M., was found to be intoxicated and was causing a disturbance at a car wash in the “Koshtepa” neighborhood.
In response to the disturbance, officers from the Internal Affairs Department (IAD) arrived at the scene and decided to transport T.M. to a sobering-up station at the Buka District Medical Association. However, during the journey, T.M. attempted to escape by forcing the door open and throwing himself onto the ground. This resulted in him sustaining internal and external head injuries, abrasions, a broken nose, and other bodily injuries.
Despite efforts to save his life, T.M. succumbed to his injuries at the Bekobod District Central Hospital. The Okkurgan District Prosecutor’s Office has launched a criminal case under Article 266, Part 2 of the Criminal Code, and an internal investigation is underway to determine the actions of the police officers involved in the incident.
This tragic event serves as a reminder of the dangers of irresponsible behavior while under the influence of alcohol and the importance of ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals in police custody. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with authorities working to determine the circumstances leading to the untimely death of T.M.
