Man fined for tying dog to tractor in Turkey

Provincial Gendarmerie Command Takes Action After Dog Tied to Tractor Trailer

Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams have sprung into action following the circulation of disturbing images on social media showing a dog being tied to a tractor trailer and running around.

After conducting a thorough investigation, the teams determined that the video was recorded near Kuytuca District on the Siverek-Viranşehir highway. They also identified the tractor driver as H.D., aged 57.

Promptly, the teams visited the address of the driver in question, where they found the dog to be in good health. They subsequently reported the situation to the District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry.

During his statement at the police station, H.D., who was taken into custody, claimed ownership of the dog and stated that he had not noticed the dog jumping while he was transporting it in the tractor trailer. He also vehemently denied any intention to torture the dog.

As a result of the incident, H.D. was fined 2,732 Turkish lira by the gendarmerie traffic teams. After going through the required procedures, he was released by the judicial authorities to whom he was referred.

This incident serves as a reminder to all individuals to prioritize the safety and well-being of animals under their care. The Provincial Gendarmerie Command’s swift response is a testament to the importance of holding individuals accountable for the treatment of animals.
