Man in Istanbul Goes on Shooting Rampage After Hallucination
A shocking incident occurred in Istanbul yesterday, where a man, identified only as Aziz Ç., allegedly hallucinated after consuming alcohol and began shooting randomly on the streets. The incident took place around 17:00 on Celaliye Mahallesi İstasyon Street, causing panic among the residents in the area.
According to reports, Aziz Ç. took shelter at the entrance of a building and started firing bullets on the street, with some shots hitting nearby buildings. Thankfully, no one was injured or killed during the incident. Police were notified by the residents who heard the gunshots, and they quickly arrived at the scene to apprehend Aziz Ç.
Upon searching Aziz Ç.’s house, authorities found 88 rifle and pistol bullets, as well as 5 knives. Aziz Ç. claimed during his interrogation that he had disposed of the gun after the incident, but he could not remember where he had thrown it.
Despite the gravity of the situation, it was reported that Aziz Ç. was released after giving his statement. This decision has raised concerns among the neighborhood residents, with one individual expressing worries about the safety of their children playing outside. They questioned why Aziz Ç. was allowed to roam free despite his erratic behavior.
The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of alcohol consumption moderation and responsible behavior. Authorities are urged to take necessary precautions to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.
