Man in Jizzakh Pays 4 Million UZS Child Support in Coins

Man Settles Child Support Debt in Coins in Jizzakh Region

In an unusual turn of events, a resident of the Sharof Rashidov district in the Jizzakh region has settled his child support debt by using only coins, as reported by Daryo and confirmed by the Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement (BCE).

The case began when an enforcement order was issued to L.M. to provide child support for his child to O.L. Unfortunately, L.M. failed to comply and accrued a significant debt of 4 million UZS.

Seeking to clear his obligation, L.M. gathered a substantial amount of coins in various denominations, specifically 10, 50, 100, and 500 UZS. He intended to deliver these coins personally to his ex-spouse, seemingly with the desire to inconvenience her by making her count them.

However, the situation took a different turn when BCE officials intervened. To ensure an accurate count of the coins, they involved bank staff. The total owed amount was then transferred directly to O.L.’s bank account, effectively circumventing L.M.’s original plan.

This incident highlights the ongoing efforts in Uzbekistan to address child support obligations. Recent initiatives have seen over 3,800 families reconcile their differences and fulfill their responsibilities, thanks to increased public awareness campaigns.

The Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement continues to emphasize the importance of compliance with child support obligations, striving to ensure that children receive the support they need.
