Man Arrested for Fraud in Bishkek
On December 29, 2023, the 24.kg news agency reported that investigators from the Internal Affairs Department of Oktyabrsky district in Bishkek had detained an individual suspected of fraud.
According to the department’s press service, the case began when a citizen filed a written statement on October 17, reporting that on August 14, a man had taken possession of his BMW M3 340, valued at $30,000, under the pretext of purchasing it. The individual then sold the car to third parties and disappeared in an unknown direction.
The Internal Affairs Department opened a criminal case under Article 209 (fraud) of the Criminal Code and detained a 26-year-old suspect, who was placed in the temporary detention center of the Bishkek Central Internal Affairs Department. The confiscated car was placed in an impound lot.
Authorities are currently working to establish the suspect’s involvement in similar crimes.
