Martyr Fethi Sekin Commemorated on 8th Anniversary of His Heroic Act
On the eighth anniversary of his martyrdom, the courageous act of Fethi Sekin was commemorated at his grave in Elazığ. Sekin, a police officer in the Traffic Branch’s Motorized Falcons Team, sacrificed his life to save dozens of people from a terrorist attack on the Izmir Courthouse on January 5, 2017.
President Erdoğan and other government officials paid their respects to Sekin and Musa Can, who also lost his life in the attack, praising their bravery and heroism. Speakers of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye and the AK Party Spokesperson also honored the memory of these fallen heroes.
Ministers and Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz also shared messages of remembrance for the martyrs, highlighting the selfless sacrifice made by Fethi Sekin to protect innocent lives. The legacy of Sekin’s heroism continues to inspire gratitude and respect in the hearts of the Turkish people.
