Masdar Ventures into Offshore Wind, Green Hydrogen, and Energy Storage in Azerbaijan
Masdar, the UAE’s leading renewable energy company, is actively conducting research in key areas of transitioning to green energy in Azerbaijan. This includes offshore wind energy, green hydrogen production, and the development of battery energy storage systems. Murad Sadykhov, Director of Masdar Azerbaijan, shared this information during an event focused on innovative pathways to a greener future and emission reduction.
Sadykhov highlighted that Masdar is continuing its research in offshore wind energy, green hydrogen, and energy storage systems. In Nakhchivan, one of their subsidiaries conducted a comprehensive study on power grid management and battery technologies. Similar studies have also been conducted in the mainland part of the country to assess the impact of increasing the share of renewable energy in Azerbaijan’s energy balance.
The Director mentioned that Azerbaijan has already started to see tangible economic returns from the development of green energy. He expressed optimism about the future, stating that Azerbaijan is confidently moving towards a more sustainable energy future thanks to the joint efforts of all involved in the process.
