A recent operation conducted by the Provincial Gendarmerie Command Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch Directorate (KOM) in Ankara has resulted in the seizure of 17 tons of chocolate past its expiration date.
The operation was carried out at a warehouse in Yenimahalle, where chocolates with expired consumption histories were stored. The chocolates were intended to be offered for sale again after the upcoming Ramadan Feast.
Following a search decision, the Gendarmerie Command and the Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry teams collaborated to conduct the operation, leading to the confiscation of the expired chocolates.
An investigation into the incident has been initiated to determine the circumstances surrounding the storage and intended sale of the expired chocolates.
Consumers are advised to be vigilant and check the expiration dates of products before making purchases to ensure the safety and quality of the items they buy.
