“Massive Teacher Appointments Take Place Today – 45,000 Educators to be Hired”
Ministry of National Education to Appoint 45 Thousand Teachers in 103 Branches
Teacher candidates in Turkey have something to be excited about with the announcement that the Ministry of National Education will be appointing 45 thousand teachers in 103 branches. This is the highest number of appointments made at one time in Turkey. Minister of National Education, Mahmut Özer, emphasized this point and stated that although more than this number of teachers have been appointed in a year, this is the highest number appointed at once.
Classroom teaching will be given priority in this appointment with 7,878 quotas allocated to this branch. Guidance teachers were second in line with 3,604 quotas. Pre-school education also received a significant focus with 3,269 quotas allocated for this branch.
More than half of the 45 thousand teachers will be assigned to the earthquake zone with the Ministry of National Education focusing on 10 provinces affected by the earthquake, with Hatay in first place. Over 50% of the newly appointed teachers, which is more than 22,500 teachers, will be assigned to these provinces.
