Mut Municipality Embroiders Giant Turkish Flag on Taurus Mountains
In a remarkable display of patriotism, Mut Municipality personnel in the Mut district of the Taurus Mountains have embroidered the Turkish flag on the skirts of the mountain. Using a staggering 30 thousand liters of red paint and 2 thousand liters of white paint, the flag covers an impressive 21,600 square meters.
The flag, which was completed before August 30 Victory Day, is now visible from all over the region. Measuring 180 meters long and 120 meters wide, Mayor Murat Orhan proudly stated, “The largest Turkish flag embroidered on the ground in the world is located in the Mut district of Mersin.”
The process of painting the flag alone cost 3 million 500 thousand liras, according to President Orhan. This incredible display of national pride is sure to become a landmark in the district, drawing visitors from near and far to witness this spectacular sight on the mountainside.
