Mayor Hasan Kilca: Breaking News in Karatay
Hasan Kilca, born in Konya in 1970, has had a successful career in law and local government. After graduating from Harmancık Primary School, he went on to complete his education at Konya Imam Hatip High School in 1991. Kilca then furthered his education by completing his studies at Ankara University Faculty of Law in 1995.
Following his graduation, Kilca worked as a freelance lawyer before joining Konya Metropolitan Municipality as a lawyer in 1997. He quickly rose through the ranks, being appointed as the 1st Legal Counsel in 2002 and later becoming the Secretary General in 2016.
Throughout his time at Konya Metropolitan Municipality, Kilca held various leadership positions, including Chairman of the Board of Directors of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Ağaç A.Ş. from 2005 to 2010, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Sports Inc. from 2010 to 2018, and Member of the Board of Directors and Vice President of Konya Science Center A.Ş. from 2012 to 2018. Additionally, he was a member of the Entrepreneur Delegation for Konya Organized Industrial Zone from 2013 to 2018.
In 2014, Kilca played a key role in the opening of Türkiye’s first Science Center, which was supported by TÜBİTAK. His contributions to the advancement of local government did not go unnoticed, as he was a member of the Council of Metropolitan Municipality for 16 years and provided training to managers and personnel of municipalities through the Union of Municipalities of Türkiye (TBB).
In November 2018, Kilca ran as a candidate for Mayor of Karatay from the AK Party and was successfully elected in the March 2024 elections. He continues to serve his community with dedication and passion, bringing his wealth of experience in law and local government to his role as Mayor.
