MCS Refutes Claims of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan Bidding for World Cup 2034 Hosting

Kazakhstan Dismisses Reports of Jointly Hosting World Cup 2034 with Uzbekistan
Earlier this week, media outlets were abuzz with reports suggesting that Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan were considering a joint bid to host the FIFA World Cup in 2034. However, the Ministry of Culture and Sports (MCS) of Kazakhstan has now clarified that this information is not accurate and that they have no plans to apply for the bidding process.
In a statement released by the ministry, they emphasized their commitment to the development of football in Kazakhstan but made it clear that hosting the World Cup is not on their agenda. The MCS highlighted that while they support and promote the sport, the current focus is not on organizing such a major international event.
This clarification comes after Championat.asia reported that officials from the football associations of Turkic-speaking countries, including Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, discussed the possibility of a joint bid during a summit in Kyrgyzstan. The head of the Football Federation of Kazakhstan, Adlet Barmenkulov, was said to have proposed the idea of hosting the World Cup together.
However, it is worth mentioning that other countries have already expressed their interest in hosting the 2034 FIFA World Cup. Saudi Arabia and China are among the nations that have already submitted their applications. With strong competition already in the mix, it remains to be seen which country will ultimately be chosen to host this prestigious tournament.
For now, the focus for Kazakhstan lies on the continued development of football within the country, nurturing young talent, and bolstering the national team’s performance in international competitions. While hosting the World Cup would undoubtedly bring immense benefits, it seems that Kazakhstan is content with supporting the sport domestically rather than pursuing such a grand undertaking.
As the bidding process unfolds in the years to come, football enthusiasts worldwide will eagerly await the outcome, eagerly speculating on which country will have the honor of welcoming the world’s most celebrated football tournament in 2034.
