Meetings between Turkmenistan’s President and Tajikistan’s Parliamentary Chairmen
Turkmenistan’s President, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, met with the Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon Majlisi Oli of Tajikistan, Mahmadtoir Zokirzoda and the Chairman of the Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli of Tajikistan, Rustami Emomali, during his state visit to Tajikistan. The importance of bilateral talks that opened up new milestones in the traditionally friendly dialogue between the two countries was emphasized. The President expressed gratitude to the Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon for his personal contribution to strengthening the friendship and cooperation between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan. The President also suggested creating the parliamentary Friendship Group “Turkmenistan-Tajikistan” for further development and strengthening of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan. Both countries expressed their readiness to strengthen parliamentary cooperation and support constructive initiatives to meet long-term interests. In addition, they noted the importance of inter-parliamentary diplomacy in establishing an equal, respectful, and trusting dialogue between states and peoples.
