Members of Crime Group Arrested for Inciting Hatred

Bishkek – The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) has reported that members of Kamchybek Asanbek’s organized crime group and destructive political forces have prepared a provocative video to destabilize the situation in the republic on an interregional basis with a subsequent attempt of violent seizure of power.
According to the SCNS, all those involved in the organization and preparation of the video have been identified, and appropriate investigative and operational measures are currently being carried out. The SCNS has warned of criminal liability for actions aimed at inciting racial, ethnic, national, religious, or interregional hostility (hatred), as well as organizing and participating in mass riots. The legislation provides for criminal liability of up to 15 years in prison for such offenses.
It is important for individuals and groups to refrain from engaging in activities that could lead to violence, unrest, and harm to the stability of the nation. The SCNS is dedicated to maintaining peace and security in the country, and will take all necessary measures to prevent any attempts to destabilize the situation through unlawful means.
