Minibus crashes into barriers on slick road
Accident on Slippery Road in Izmit’s Yenimahalle Location
A recent accident shook the residents of Izmit’s Yenimahalle location when a service minibus carrying factory workers lost control on the slippery road and crashed into the roadside barrier. The incident occurred at night on the D-100 road in the direction of Ankara, during heavy rain.
The driver, identified as Ç.D., struggled to keep the minibus on track as the road became more treacherous due to the rain. Witnesses reported that the driver lost control of the steering wheel, leading to the collision with the barrier.
One of the passengers in the minibus, identified as SY, sustained injuries from the impact. Quick action from witnesses resulted in a report to the 112 Emergency Call Center, prompting a medical and police team to rush to the scene. Medical personnel provided first aid to the injured passenger before transporting him to the hospital for further treatment.
The accident caused a temporary traffic jam on the D-100 Highway towards Ankara, which cleared up once the minibus was removed from the scene. It serves as a reminder for drivers to exercise caution when driving in adverse weather conditions to prevent such tragic incidents from occurring.
