Minister Güler Responds to Questions at Parliament Reception
Minister Güler recently attended a reception at the Parliament to celebrate the 104th opening anniversary of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day. During the event, he addressed various questions and topics of interest.
When asked about a potential meeting with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier regarding the Eurofighter, Minister Güler humorously replied, “The man is cutting doner kebabs, we will ask after the doner business is finished.” He assured that developments regarding the matter are ongoing.
In regards to the establishment of a joint operations center with Iraq, Güler emphasized the importance of collaboration and stated, “We will work more. We will work together with them to see what we can do. After that, the responsibilities of the joint operations center will be clear. Now, both parties have made a joint decision on the establishment.”
When questioned about the recent Turkey-Greece Confidence Building Measures Meeting in Athens, Güler expressed optimism, stating, “We will find out when the delegation returns. But it is positive. It is being carried out in mutual good will.”
Regarding the purchase of F-16 warplanes from the USA, Güler reassured that discussions are ongoing. He mentioned, “We are talking. Soon you will learn where we are regarding everything. We are working.”
