“Minister Institution Delivers 6 Good News to Pendik”
Minister of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change Murat Kurum recently met with citizens at a rally in Pendik on May 6th. During the meeting, Kurum emphasized their goal of urban transformation nationwide.
Kurum stated that they have transformed 695,000 residences in Istanbul, and their current goal is to complete the “Great Istanbul transformation” project. He also mentioned that they have received 551,000 independent department applications for the transformation of the century in Istanbul.
The Minister laid the foundations of a project that consists of 1,747 residences and 281 shops on an area of 142 thousand square meters in Pendik, Orta, and Dumlupınar neighborhoods. The project aims to complete these homes within 16 months and deliver them to eligible citizens.
Kurum also announced that they will expand their work for urban transformation and transform 3,200 risky structures in an area of 920 thousand square meters.
The Minister approved both the reserve announcement and the zoning plans for the Ertuğrul Gazi neighborhood, where there are 4,500 slums in total. Here they have determined an area of 950 residences for transformation.
Kurum’s Green Pendik ideals involve creating open spaces that are green and nature-friendly. He talked about the 285 thousand square meter Pendik National Garden, currently in use, and the ongoing construction project of 28 thousand square meters of the Burla brothers’ residence. Kurum also stated that they are building a national garden on the Güzelyalı Beach.
Kurum also mentioned efforts to solve property problems in the Dolayoba Neighborhood and 400 thousand square meters in Pendik, Şahintepe. Additionally, they are constructing 2 kindergartens in Pendik, Kurtköy, with a total of 18 classrooms, to be completed in time for the next academic year.
Overall, Kurum’s projects aim to provide better living conditions, greater accessibility to green spaces, and infrastructure development, among other beneficial changes for the people of Pendik.
