Minister of Internal Affairs Dursun Oğuz Makes Positive Changes for Foreign Property Owners in TRNC
Minister of Internal Affairs Dursun Oğuz recently met with a group of foreigners who own real estate in the country to discuss the issues they have been facing. During the meeting, Oğuz addressed the concerns of foreigners who have been residing in the TRNC for an extended period and own property in the region.
In a statement issued by the Ministry, Oğuz highlighted the changes that have been made in the “Foreigners and Immigration Amendment Law.” He announced that foreigners who are over 60 years old and own real estate in the TRNC will now receive a residence permit every 5 years, as opposed to annually. This change aims to streamline the bureaucratic processes that foreigners encounter on a yearly basis.
“We have successfully resolved a significant issue with the amendment of this law,” stated Oğuz. He emphasized that both he and the Prime Minister are dedicated to addressing the concerns of foreign property owners in the TRNC. Oğuz emphasized the importance of creating a more comfortable and hassle-free living environment for foreigners who have chosen the TRNC as their home.
