Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya Addresses Key Issues in NTV Live Broadcast
In a recent live broadcast on NTV, Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya provided important updates and insights on various issues. Here are some highlights from his statements:
– At the beginning of the year, there will be a total of 309,819 law enforcement officers on duty to ensure public safety.
– Security measures for New Year’s Eve will be in place for 3 days to prevent any potential incidents.
– In the past two months, authorities have seized 295,000 liters of fake alcohol and arrested 25 individuals involved in its distribution.
Return of Syrians to Their Country
Minister Yerlikaya also discussed the return of Syrian refugees to their homeland. He emphasized that Turkey has been supportive of Syrians and that 4,156,000 foreigners with legal rights to stay are currently residing in the country.
Since December 8, a total of 35,114 Syrians have returned to Syria voluntarily, with an average of 1,700 returns per day. In total, 775,117 Syrians have returned to their homeland with dignity and safety. Most returns are currently to Aleppo, and citizenship has not been granted to those born in Turkey.
Furthermore, an immigration office will be opened in Damascus to facilitate the return process, and educational assistance will be provided to institutions in the city.
Irregular Migration and Fight Against Organizers
Minister Yerlikaya also addressed the issue of irregular migration and the government’s efforts to combat human trafficking. He highlighted the success achieved in arresting 7,626 individuals involved in human trafficking and seizing 8,431 vehicles used for illegal activities.
