Minister of Youth and Sports joins young people in iftar program

Osman Aşkın Bak, Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Türkiye (TC), visited the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) to engage in official meetings and activities. During his visit, he had the opportunity to meet with young people at an iftar program held at Eastern Mediterranean University.

The iftar program, which took place at the Lala Mustafa Pasha Sports Palace, was hosted by EMU Rector Dr. Hasan Kılıç. In attendance were President Ersin Tatar, Minister of Youth and Sports of Turkey Osman Aşkın Bak, Ambassador of Turkey Ali Murat Başçeri, Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu, EMU Foundation Managers Board Chairman Erdal Özcenk, EMU Rector Dr. Hasan Kılıç, EMU Foundation Managers Board Members, EMU Vice Rectors, and students.

The program commenced with a recitation of the Qur’an by EMU Rector Dr. Hasan Kılıç, followed by speeches from Minister Nazım Çavuşoğlu, Minister Osman Aşkın Bak, and President Ersin Tatar. The evening concluded with a Sufi music concert, adding to the spiritual atmosphere of Ramadan.

Rector Hasan Kılıç expressed joy in coming together during the holy month of Ramadan, emphasizing the importance of sharing and solidarity. Minister Nazım Çavuşoğlu highlighted the significance of unity within the Islamic world, while Minister Osman Aşkın Bak discussed the value of protecting spiritual beliefs and investing in the youth. President Ersin Tatar commended the resilience of the Turkish Cypriot people and emphasized the importance of faith, values, and education.
