The Minister of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, Mehmet Özhaseki, recently visited a mine site to inspect the laboratories and receive information about the analyzes and analysis methods being performed in the region. The visit was part of the ongoing underground and surface water monitoring studies in the area.

During the visit, Minister Özhaseki reviewed the analysis results of water samples taken from nine regions every day since the first day of the landslide in the İliç area. He also examined the air quality measurement results conducted in the region. Based on the information received, the minister instructed authorities to continue the monitoring studies uninterrupted.

Minister Özhaseki expressed that no toxic waste had been found in the samples taken so far, according to information he received from the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) General Manager, Cihan Tatar. He emphasized the importance of the ongoing environmental monitoring efforts and stated, “We continue to work with all our units in Erzincan İliç.”
