During his recent visit to France, Minister of Treasury and Finance, Mehmet Şimşek, emphasized the strength and potential of the Turkish economy to international investors. Speaking at a gathering of French-based investment funds and bank senior managers, who collectively manage approximately 4 trillion euros, Şimşek provided insights on the Turkish economy and the country’s development programs.

The meeting, hosted by Societe Generale, was part of a busy day for Şimşek. He also engaged with members of MEDEF, France’s largest business association, and held discussions with Mr. Fatih BİROL, President of the International Energy Agency, regarding the global energy market outlook. Additionally, he met with Bruno Le MAIRE, the French Minister of Economy and Finance, to explore opportunities for enhanced bilateral trade and mutual investments.

At the France-Germany Forum, Şimşek further highlighted investment prospects in Turkey to the CEOs and CFOs of around 70 companies. France currently ranks among the top 10 countries in terms of international investments in Turkey. Şimşek’s meetings with investors will continue in the Gulf countries next week, as he aims to attract long-term investments that will contribute to job creation and generate high added value.

The purpose of these visits is to showcase Turkey’s new economic program and demonstrate the potential for investors. Minister Şimşek underlined the government’s commitment to fostering an investment-friendly environment and driving economic growth.
