Minister Uraloğlu Inaugurates Kocaeli City Hospital Tram Line
Minister Uraloğlu recently spoke at the Kocaeli City Hospital Tram Line Opening Ceremony, where he highlighted the importance of the new line in strengthening the urban rail system network of Kocaeli. The city, known as one of the largest production centers in the country, will benefit greatly from this new addition, making it easier for citizens to access the hospital.
During his speech, Minister Uraloğlu emphasized the government’s commitment to improving urban transportation through various projects across the country. Since 2002, under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, significant investments have been made in the railways sector and the implementation of important urban rail system projects has been a priority. These projects aim to alleviate traffic congestion in metropolitan cities and provide better transportation options for residents.
Minister Uraloğlu highlighted several recent achievements in the transportation sector, including the completion and opening of various urban rail system projects in cities like Istanbul, Ankara, Kayseri, and Antalya. He also mentioned the ongoing construction of new rail system lines in Istanbul and Bursa, further expanding the public transportation network.
The Kocaeli City Hospital Tram Line, which started construction in November 2022, was completed in a record time of 1.5 years. The 3.1-kilometer line consists of five stations and will significantly reduce travel time to the hospital for residents of the city. It is expected to serve 210 thousand people daily and will be integrated with other tram lines in the area in the future.
Minister Uraloğlu expressed pride in the government’s investments in Kocaeli’s transportation and communication infrastructure, totaling 264 billion lira. These investments have transformed Kocaeli into an international trade center and connected it to neighboring cities with high-standard roads and railway lines.
Despite facing criticism from opposition parties, Minister Uraloğlu remains committed to continuing the government’s service-oriented approach to governance. He emphasized that criticism only serves to reinforce the government’s determination to deliver on its promises and improve the lives of citizens.
Minister Uraloğlu concluded the event by thanking all the contractors and employees who contributed to the successful completion of the Kocaeli City Hospital Tram Line project. He then officially inaugurated the line by taking the first trip with his entourage, marking a new milestone in Kocaeli’s urban transportation network.
