Minister Yerlikaya Shares Results of Vehicle Inspection: Over 2 Million Vehicles Checked

Minister Yerlikaya recently provided an update on the activities of the Police and Gendarmerie Traffic Teams between June 27 and July 4, 2024. During this period, a total of 2,408,077 vehicles were inspected.

One concerning issue that was highlighted in the statement was the action taken against 215 drivers who were found to be using devices with light or sound warning signs (strobes) illegally installed in their vehicles.

Additionally, the Traffic Teams identified and processed violations such as 115,662 cases of speeding, 24,738 vehicles that had not undergone periodic inspections, 23,609 individuals not wearing seat belts, and 14,000 people driving without a valid driver’s license. A further 9,287 cases were recorded for not having compulsory liability insurance.

In total, 441,910 vehicles/drivers were processed for various infractions during this period. Minister Yerlikaya emphasized the importance of adhering to traffic rules, avoiding excessive speeding, and wearing seat belts for safety.
