Ministry Invests $300,000 in Water Monitoring Stations
The Ministry of Natural Resources of Kyrgyzstan has announced plans to build four water monitoring stations, with a total budget of $300,000, according to a new report by the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) on the topic of “Infrastructure in Eurasia.”
These stations will be strategically placed in key locations throughout the country. A 24-hour station will be operational in Bishkek, an autonomous installation will be established in Osh, and two similar stations will be set up on Issyk-Kul lake for year-round monitoring. The funding for this project will come from grants provided by the World Bank.
Water monitoring stations play a crucial role in continuously monitoring and analyzing the quality of water in rivers, lakes, reservoirs, and other water sources. Equipped with various devices and sensors, these stations measure parameters such as temperature, pollution levels, dissolved solids, oxygen levels, pH, and the presence of toxic chemicals or biological pollutants.
This initiative by the Ministry of Natural Resources of Kyrgyzstan highlights the government’s commitment to ensuring the sustainability and quality of water resources in the country. By investing in infrastructure for water monitoring, Kyrgyzstan aims to protect its environment and promote the health and well-being of its citizens.
