Ministry of Internal Affairs Cracks Down on Preventive Inspectors After Public Outcry

Preventive Inspectors Dismissed for Misconduct with Women

A recent press conference held by the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ (MIA) Crime Prevention Service addressed concerns about preventive inspectors engaging in misconduct with women whose husbands were working abroad. Rahimjon Naimov, Deputy Head of the MIA’s Crime Prevention Service, announced that following the president’s dissatisfaction with the officers’ conduct, an attestation process was conducted resulting in the dismissal of 300 officers.

During the press conference, Colonel Rahimjon Naimov highlighted the measures taken to address the issue of corrupt officers within the system. He mentioned that in 2024, concerns were raised about the declining loyalty and professionalism of preventive inspectors, leading to the launch of extraordinary attestations across the country. As a result, nearly 300 officers were dismissed for tarnishing the system’s reputation and engaging in inappropriate behavior with citizens.

Colonel Umida Abdullaeva also emphasized the importance of continuous professional development and discipline in the service. She mentioned that officers undergo training at the MIA’s Advanced Training Institute to enhance their professional knowledge and instill a sense of loyalty to the nation. Those who continue to engage in misconduct will undergo further attestation.

The press conference also mentioned a recent incident in Shovot district, Khorezm region, where a preventive inspector was caught inside the home of a woman whose husband was working in Russia. The officer was apprehended by the woman’s in-laws, and the MIA is considering dismissing him from the internal affairs system.

Overall, the MIA is committed to maintaining discipline and professionalism within the Crime Prevention Service. Strict oversight and monitoring of officers have been implemented to prevent further incidents of misconduct. Extraordinary attestations will continue until all officers meet the standards set by the president, government, and minister of internal affairs.
