Ministry of National Defense announces martyrdom of soldier during operation
Tragic news has been announced by the Ministry of National Defense as they confirmed the martyrdom of a soldier during an operation. The ministry stated that on February 17, 2024, in the Claw-Lock Operation Region, BTÖ members attempted to infiltrate the base area. This resulted in a conflict where Infantry Contracted Private Salih Ay was martyred and another comrade was injured. The injured personnel were immediately transferred to the hospital for treatment.
Additionally, the Ministry of National Defense reported that 6 terrorists were neutralized during the conflict in the region. Operations in the area are ongoing.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the fallen soldier and their family, as well as to the injured comrade. The sacrifice made by these brave men in service to their country will never be forgotten.
