Ministry of National Defense Conducts Air Operation in Northern Iraq-Syria
On January 12, an attack in the north of Iraq resulted in the martyrdom of 9 soldiers. In response, the Turkish Armed Forces carried out an air operation targeting terrorist elements in the north of Iraq and Syria. The Ministry of National Defense stated that the operation aimed to eliminate terrorist threats and ensure border security by neutralizing PKK/YPG/KCK and other terrorist elements.
During the air operations, 23 targets including caves, shelters, tunnels, ammunition/material warehouses, and facilities used by the terrorist organization to generate income were destroyed. The Ministry of National Defense emphasized the use of domestic and national ammunition in these operations, resulting in the neutralization of many terrorists.
