Baku, July 18 – The Republican Seismic Survey Center of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences confirmed that a 3.3 magnitude earthquake struck the Caspian Sea on Tuesday. The seismic event occurred at 13:19 local time and had a depth of 60 km.
The earthquake, although of relatively low magnitude, could have been felt by the residents around the Caspian Sea. However, there have been no reports of any damages or injuries caused by the seismic activity.
The Republican Seismic Survey Center is responsible for monitoring and studying seismic events in Azerbaijan. They continuously collect data on earthquakes to better understand the region’s tectonic activity and provide early warning systems to mitigate potential risks.
