Mongolia Welcomes World Women’s Forum
Mongolia Hosts World Women’s Forum to Focus on Empowerment and Gender Equality
In celebration of the centenary of the Mongolian Women’s Federation, Mongolia is hosting the World Women’s Forum in Ulaanbaatar on August 22-23, 2024. President Khurelsukh Ukhnaagiin is leading the forum, which will center on women’s empowerment, gender equality, climate change, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The forum will feature a variety of sessions, including an opening session, plenary discussions, a closing session, and six thematic sessions. The aim of this event is to address gender inequality and promote women’s leadership as crucial for tackling global challenges.
Attendees at the forum include state heads, heads of legislative organizations, and ministers from 19 countries, as well as representatives from approximately 20 international organizations, international non-governmental organizations, and women leaders in business, sports, and art. Notable figures in attendance include Slovenian president Nataša Pirc Musar, Amina Mohammed (Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations), representatives from the United Nations system and specialized organizations, the Vice President of Laos, the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Bulgaria, the first lady of Kyrgyzstan, and high-ranking officials from Switzerland, Belarus, Uzbekistan, China, Russia, USA, Japan, France, Australia, Turkey, Cuba, and the United Kingdom.
The World Women’s Forum in Mongolia promises to be a significant gathering focused on advancing the rights and opportunities for women around the world.
