Mongolian Student Hulan Thriving in Inner Mongolia
Hulan, a sophomore at Erenhot No.3 Middle School in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is making waves as she answers questions in class. Originally from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, Hulan’s parents brought her to China to study, with the plan of returning to Mongolia once she gets admitted to a Chinese university.
Erenhot, where Hulan is currently studying, is a vital land port open between China and Mongolia, allowing for the frequent travel of passengers, merchants, and overseas students. The city is a hub for educational opportunities, with several primary and secondary schools and kindergartens actively recruiting students from Mongolia.
Erenhot No.3 Middle School has a long-standing tradition of accepting Mongolian students. In fact, the school has been enrolling students from Mongolia for 27 years, since accepting five transfer students in 1996. The number of Mongolian students at the school continues to grow, with the enrollment size for one grade reaching three classes totaling 124 students in September of this year.
Hulan’s success at Erenhot No.3 Middle School is a testament to the strong educational ties between Mongolia and China. As she continues to excel in her studies, she represents the bright future of collaboration and friendship between the two nations.
