Mormenekṣe Artichoke Festival Celebrates its 12th Year – BRTK
The 12th Mormenekşe Artichoke Festival kicked off with a vibrant cortege in the village square, setting the stage for a weekend of festivities. The festival began with wishes being hung on the wish tree for the first time, followed by a series of exciting events in the festival area.
Visitors had the opportunity to explore three separate exhibitions showcasing handmade crafts that preserve the rich history of Cyprus. Additionally, a variety of foods made from artichokes and traditional products reflecting Cypriot culture were available for purchase at stands throughout the area.
As the festival draws to a close on Sunday evening, the crowd can look forward to a special performance by ‘Ayna’, one of Turkey’s beloved bands. Attendees can enjoy live music and entertainment as they celebrate the culmination of the three-day event.
The Mormenekşe Artichoke Festival continues to be a highlight in the local community, bringing together residents and visitors alike to celebrate the cultural heritage and culinary delights of Cyprus. Be sure to mark your calendars for next year’s festival for another unforgettable experience.
