Two Police Officers Injured in Motorcycle Accident While Chasing Suspect
An unfortunate accident occurred around 22.30 near the Anadolu Caddesi Gümüşpala junction, resulting in injuries to two police officers. The incident unfolded when a vehicle, suspected by police teams, refused to comply with a ‘stop’ warning and attempted to flee. In pursuit of the escaping vehicle, the Motorcycle Police Teams, under the Public Order Branch Directorate, lost control of their motorcycle and crashed into roadside barriers.
The two officers, identified as E.İ. (30) and AK (25), were thrown onto the road due to the impact. Promptly, numerous police and medical teams rushed to the scene. The injured officers were found to have sustained minor injuries and were quickly transported to Ege University Medical Faculty Hospital via ambulance for further treatment.
Concerned colleagues of the injured officers gathered at the hospital to inquire about their condition. It has been disclosed that both officers have suffered fractures in their arms and legs, and they are currently under medical care.
Meanwhile, the search for the suspect and the escaped vehicle is ongoing. Police continue to make efforts to apprehend the individual responsible for the incident. The authorities urge anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward and assist in the investigation.
