Avalanche and Snowstorm Warnings Issued for Kyrgyzstan

The Ministry of Emergency Situations in Kyrgyzstan has issued warnings for avalanches, snow, and glaze ice in the mountainous areas of the country from January 11 to January 12. The announcement comes as the region braces for severe weather conditions.

According to the ministry, avalanches and snowstorms are forecasted on several roads, including the Bishkek-Osh highway on Too-Ashuu pass, the same road in Chychkan gorge (Ala-Bel pass), Myrza-Ake-Kara-Kuldzha-Alaikuu road, Ala-Buka-Kanysh-Kiya road, and Krasnaya Gorka-Aktash road. Travelers are advised to maintain a distance of 500 meters between vehicles and to carry anti-skid chains, a shovel, and a first aid kit when embarking on long trips.

In case of emergencies, the Ministry of Emergency Situations has urged residents to call 112 for assistance.
