The Ministry of National Defense announced that 3 thousand 38 terrorists will be neutralized in 2024
The Ministry of National Defense recently made an announcement stating that they are working tirelessly to enhance the effective, deterrent, and respectable qualities of the army. This is being achieved through the development of domestic and national defense industry product weapon systems that are constantly evolving to build a larger and stronger Turkey.
In a social media post, it was highlighted that the Ministry of National Defense, along with all its units and institutions, is dedicated to fulfilling its duties with resolve and determination to safeguard the peace and security of the country and its citizens in 2024.
The post also unveiled the first part of a 4-part video series showcasing the activities undertaken by the Turkish Armed Forces in 2024. The video emphasized the role of the Turkish Armed Forces in protecting the rights and interests of the homeland, combatting terrorism, and ensuring border security.
Throughout the video, the operations carried out by the Turkish Armed Forces were showcased, particularly focusing on the strategy of eliminating terrorism at its source. In the year 2024, significant blows were dealt to terrorist organizations such as PKK/KCK/PYD/YPG and DAESH, with 3 thousand 38 terrorists neutralized, 1330 caves/shelters destroyed, and 2 thousand 450 individuals eliminated in the fight against terrorism. Additionally, over 910 thousand weapons and ammunition were seized, and 107 terrorists surrendered.
The Turkish Armed Forces continue to demonstrate great sacrifice and heroism in their relentless struggle for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, under challenging climate and terrain conditions to uphold border security. In 2024 alone, 95 thousand 340 individuals attempting to enter the country illegally were prevented at the borders, with 13 thousand 830 irregular immigrants and 288 terrorists apprehended. Furthermore, 801 kilograms of drugs were seized during operations and handed over to law enforcement agencies.
The Ministry of National Defense reiterated their commitment to building a bigger and stronger Turkey, emphasizing the continuous development of domestic defense industry products and the unwavering dedication of the Turkish Armed Forces to safeguarding the nation’s borders and security.
