Mukhtar Babaev: Climate Change Poses One of the Most Serious Global Threats
Climate Change a Key Threat to the World, States Azerbaijani Official
Mukhtar Babayev, the special representative of the President of Azerbaijan on climate issues, emphasized that climate change remains one of the most significant threats to the entire world. He made these remarks during a panel discussion at the Antalya Diplomatic Forum.
Babayev highlighted the positive outcomes achieved during COP29 held in Baku, showcasing that progress can be made in addressing climate change. He also pointed out that the interest shown by countries like Turkey in hosting future COP conferences indicates the effectiveness of the system in place.
Nevertheless, Babayev underscored that the current focus is on COP30, and Azerbaijan is extending support to Brazil in this regard. He mentioned the successful roadmap developed during the Baku summit, which addressed specific elements of the climate change fight until 2035.
The statements made by Babayev highlight the commitment of Azerbaijan and other nations in tackling the pressing issue of climate change and striving for a sustainable future for all.
