Multiple Unlicensed Guns Discovered in 3 Vehicles in Kocaeli
Police seize 101 unlicensed pistols in anti-smuggling operation
According to a recent statement by the Provincial Police Department, a successful operation was carried out on the Anatolian Highway to prevent arms smuggling. Three vehicles were stopped and searched, leading to the discovery of a significant number of unlicensed firearms.
During the search operation, authorities uncovered 101 unlicensed pistols. These pistols had their barrel, slide, and grip parts separated, indicating they were potentially going to be assembled and sold illegally. Additionally, 299 magazines belonging to these pistols and various other pistol parts were also confiscated.
As a result of this operation, five suspects were detained in connection with the illegal arms trafficking. Following their arrest, the suspects were taken to the police station for further proceedings before being sent to court. The on-call judge then made the decision to arrest the suspects due to the severity of the charges.
