Murodjon Akhmadaliev to Face Naoya Inoue in High-Stakes Showdown
Murodjon Akhmadaliev has officially secured a matchup against Japanese boxing sensation and undisputed world champion Naoya Inoue. This eagerly anticipated bout is set to unfold on September 14 in Tokyo, Japan.
Eddie Hearn, head of Matchroom Boxing, took to Instagram to confirm the deal, sharing a picture with Akhmadaliev and captioning it: "Done deal finally! Uzbek Power vs The Monster. Best fight in the division."
Inoue, widely known as "The Monster," is scheduled to make an appearance on May 5 in Las Vegas, where he will take on American boxer Ramon Cardenas. If successful, he will defend his unified titles against Akhmadaliev later this year.
Akhmadaliev, 30, is a former world champion in the super bantamweight division, boasting a professional record of 12 wins (with 9 of those by knockout) and just one loss. He recently made headlines with a stunning third-round knockout of Mexico’s Ricardo Espinoza Franco in December 2024 and has since publicly called for a fight with Inoue.
On the other hand, Inoue, aged 32, remains undefeated with an impressive record of 29-0, including 26 knockouts. As the undisputed champion in the super bantamweight division, he holds titles from the WBC, WBO, IBF, and WBA. Notably, he has captured world championships in four different weight classes, reinforcing his reputation as one of boxing’s elite athletes.
As both fighters prepare for the clash of their careers, anticipation builds for what promises to be one of the most exciting matchups in recent boxing history. Fans are eager to see if Akhmadaliev can dethrone Inoue, or if "The Monster" will continue his reign at the top.
