Families Continue Protest for Missing Children
Families gathered in front of the DEM Party provincial building once again this week to continue their protest for their missing children. Mothers and fathers displayed banners with messages such as “We are on child watch”, “Mothers are resisting”, and “Enough is enough”, as they called on their children to surrender.
Ayten Koçhan, a participant in the protest, shared her heartbreaking story with journalists, revealing that she has not heard from her child who was kidnapped 8 years ago.
“We are only after our children,” Koçhan emphasized, expressing the deep longing and pain that these families endure as they hope to reunite with their loved ones.
Another mother, Şahinaz Özcan, also shared her anguish over not hearing from her son for years, stating, “I want my child. This is not a Kurdish cause. I will continue the protest until even one person is left in the mountains. Son, if you hear my voice, come and surrender to the state. I can’t stand it anymore.”
These families are pleading with their missing children to return and seek refuge with them, emphasizing that their only desire is to be reunited with their loved ones. Their heartfelt cries for help and justice echo through their protests as they continue to fight for the safe return of their children.
