Body Believed to be Missing Brother Found on Kadıköy Coast
A tragic incident that unfolded on November 23, 2024, on the coast of Sarıyer, has taken a new turn as a body believed to belong to one of the missing brothers has been found on the Kadıköy coast.
The body, with clothes matching those of Velat Can, one of the two brothers who went missing in the sea, was discovered standing in the water by a passerby at noon. Police teams were immediately notified and the sea police retrieved the body from the scene.
Velat Can and his brother went missing after attempting to save a woman who fell into the sea while taking a photo on the Aşiyan Coast. Despite extensive search efforts by Coast Guard Command, Marine Police, AFAD, and the Fire Department, the brothers could not be located.
Now, the body believed to be Velat Can will undergo DNA testing and identity detection at the Forensic Medicine Institute Morgue to confirm the identity.
