Dr. Akkuş pointed out that certain areas such as Tatvan Gulf, Van Lake Gulf, Çarpanak Island, and Erciş Gulf are particularly active in terms of currents due to the large streams flowing into Lake Van.

As the weather warms up, more people are naturally inclined to swim in Lake Van, increasing the risk of accidents. Dr. Akkuş stressed the importance of increasing the number of safe beaches around the lake, complete with dividers to guide swimmers and lifeguards for added safety.
